It's really hot in Phoenix - 110 - 113 - 108.  Sure it is a dry heat - but all the same it is really hot.  San Diego is cool, comfortable and actually chilly at night!!  Take a trip for the weekend to San Diego.

Sure I know it is not a novel idea - every summer "Zonies" head over to San Diego to escape the heat.  Airfare goes up - rental car prices go up - and hotel costs go up when the mass migration of desert dwellers heads over to San Diego.

If you book a limo or party bus to San Diego with us, it can actually save you money over airfare.  For example book the largest limo bus, fill it up with 40 people, and you're only spending $77.50 per person for round trip transportation to San Diego!  You can use the vehicle/chauffeur in San Diego - so you don't even have to get a rental car!  Or get a Hummer limo, fill it with 20 people, and you are spending only $110 per person round trip!!  I just checked out Southwest and the airfare per person for 2 weekends from now is $231!!

We have complete pricing for turn-around trips to San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas - anywhere 8 hours away or less listed right on our website!!

Save a bundle and escape to cooler weather.  Enjoy the beach, the nightlife, shopping.  But most importantly - pack a sweater for the night-time cooler weather!!  You are talking a 40 degrees cooler when you head over to San Diego!!  Escape the heat in a limo or party bus today!!

Escape the heat with a turn around trip to San Diego

Limos in Scottsdale - 3 ways to get the best service

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook | Submit to Digg digg it |  Add to delicious  delicious |  Submit to StumbleUpon StumbleUpon |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn

Scottsdale limo  Scottsdale is the heart of the nightlife and entertainment in Arizona and many, many people are aware of the heavy consequences of drinking and driving with Arizona's tough DUI laws so they opt to rent limos for their night out in Scottsdale.  And of course it is fun to ride in a limo so avoiding a DUI is only 1/2 the motivation.

Here are 3 simple tips to make sure you get the best limos in Scottsdale service:

1.  Figure out the date, time and number of passengers before you start making your calls to limo companies.  We need all those details to give you an accurate quote.  There is a wide variety of limos available to fit parties from 2-46 people and prices vary on certain nights because of special events and school dances.  So having those details before you call will make your information gathering easier.

2.  Price is not the only factor - you want to make sure the limo company is properly insured, has employees driving their vehicles not independent contractors, is licensed with the airport, DOT (for vehicles over 15 passengers) and AZ Weights and Measures.  You are putting your lives in the chauffeur's hands - you want to make sure they don't get injured in an accident and then not have enough insurance to cover you injuries.

3.  Service - check out on-line reviews at places like limos.com (where we have many, many 5 star reviews).  You can get a steak at Denny's and you can get a steak at Morton's steak house - where would you like to eat?  Limos have the same sort of ambiance and service as restaurants.  If it is an old vehicle, worn down with broken amenities like the stereo or TV - was it worth the $20 savings for that limo?

Call us for your limos in Scottsdale needs - we can help make you night affordable, safe and with the best possible service!

New Year's Eve Phoenix - ring in 2010 in a Limo or Party bus!

Happy New Year!! May your New Year be prosperous and filled with everything your heart desires!  New Year's Eve in Phoenix is sure to be a blast!

We at In The Scene Limousine hope that you will remember to no drink and drive this busy holiday night (or any night for that matter).  The DUI Task Force will be out ready to nab those drunk drivers- even just a few can put you over the legal limit!  It would be a horrible start to 2010 to be dealing with court costs, increased insurance and jail time if you are caught drinking and driving.

We just lowered our hourly rate for New Year's Eve.  Obviously this is a peak time for limo and party bus rentals so we are not running our 4-hour specials.  But we have reduced the pricing from what we have been quoting for the last month or so.  If you were on the fence about booking one of our beautiful limousines or party buses - give us a call now to see what great deals we are offering!  602-996-LIMO

How to look at pricing for limos

I'm trying to plan our wedding (yeah!) and getting frustrated at the lack of information on-line regarding pricing.  I'm realizing that clients who are shopping for limos have it pretty easy.  There are many on-line sites where you can request a quote from multiple companies and get instant pricing.

We also have our limo pricing right on our Prices page - along with listing the limo specials that we are running for this-weekend.  Easy - simple- transparent.  When we give you a price over the phone we quote an all-inclusive pricing.  Includes a 15% gratuity, includes a fuel surcharge and an administration fee.  All-inclusive.  Out the door pricing.  Sure if you want to tip more than the 15% that is appreciated and welcomed by the chauffeurs.  But only if they do a great job should they expect any extra tips.

Then you can take that all-inclusive pricing and break it down by head - great $726 out-the-door for a 20 person Hummer limo - that is $36.30 per person.  Pretty inexpensive when you consider the fun of all 20 of you in the awesome Hummer enjoying your cocktails with your I-pod pumping out your favorite tunes.

I'm shopping for a caterer for our wedding.  It's $32 per person - but then add 20% gratuity and then 10% for a delivery fee and then $3 per person for beverages and then $3 per cake cutting fee and then $175 for a no-host bar and then $3 per chair and then $2 for this overlay and then, and then, and then - ahhhhhh!  When will the nickel-and-diming stop?  Can I just get a TOTAL cost per person??  And where is that website where I can punch in my dates, guest count and get an instant quote from multiple caterers?

Limo shoppers have it easy compared to caterer shoppers. . . .

Cheap limos, cheap limos, cheap limos. . .

Cheap limos

Discount hell that is what we are in.  The days of the mortgage broker being a big-baller and taking his friends out in a Hummer limo for 7 hours at $150++ per hour are over.  Now-a-days the majority of the phone calls we get are from people that are professing that this is their last few entertainment dollars they are scraping together for the birthday party celebration - or for their wedding.  And they are looking for "transfers" just 7 miles away to the bars or from the wedding location to the reception site.

Maybe it's William Shatner and his Priceline commercials that started this idea that all prices can be negotiated in the favor of the consumer.  In my adulthood the only times I've heard such bargain shopping and negotiating going on was at the swap meet or garage sales.  "I'll give you $1 for this lamp".  "I'll give you $75 per hour for a Hummer limo".  We've heard it all.

The problem is that vehicles payments can't be negotiated down.  Insurance remains the same high-price.

The problem is that the backbone of our business is on chauffeurs who work off of tips - and as our average ticket goes down their wages go down.  Then these under-paid chauffeurs get frustrated and act unprofessionally on a trip - possibly ruining somebody's special occasion.  Or quit.

The problem is that then the limo business cannot afford the vehicle maintenance bills so some limos run longer than they should with service issues - with the possibility to breaking down on your important event day.

Cheap limos.  I can't wait for the day when we really can afford a cheap limo.  It will be bright orange - with "CHEAP LIMO" in large graphics across it.  When it shows up to take your group out and you get upset we will say but you asked for the cheap limo. . . .

For now we are just happy that it is finally picking up in the Phoenix market with holiday parties and airport trips.  One day soon we will be out of lowball hell.  Or certain limo companies will define themselves as being nothing more than a glorified taxi service.  We hope that with our beautiful fleet of vehicles and professional chauffeurs providing excellent service that you get what you pay for - and in our case it will hopefully be more because we are worth it.

What do you think - are limos just glorified taxis?  Or do you expect more from limo companies?

5 Ways Renting a Limo Helps You Save Between $3,595 - $8,835

  | Share on Twitter Twitter | Share on Facebook Facebook | Submit to Digg digg it |  Add to delicious  delicious |  Submit to StumbleUpon StumbleUpon |  Share on LinkedIn LinkedIn

Here are the top 5 ways renting a limo can help you save you between $3,595 - $8,835:

1.  You don't get a DUI.  A DUI with BAC of .08 will cost you more than $3,200 and 10 days in jail.  Extreme DUI - BAC of .15 will cost you more than $5,950 and 30 days in jail and Super extreme DUI - BAC of .20 will cost you more than $8,330 and 45 days in jail.  Savings = $3,200 - $8,330.

2.  You get no line/no cover at many of the top clubs in the Valley - average savings $5-$10 per head - let's say a group of 20 - that equals a savings of $100-$200.

3.  Some companies have exclusive dining and club discounts to many fine establishments where you can get discounted food and beverages.  Savings = $20-$60.

4.  You can enjoy your cocktails on-board the limo instead of spending $10 per drink (no kidding - it is that much - especially when you factor a tip) inside the clubs.  So let's say 2 drinks each consumed by 15 people from a large bottle of vodka you purchased at the grocery store for $21 & cranberry juice for $4 = $25 for all your cocktails versus $300 buying those 30 drinks in the club.  Savings = $275.

5.  You show your teenagers that you care when renting them a limo on prom.  Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers across the United States.  Drivers aged 16 to 19 years have the highest average annual crash rates of any other age group.  Prom night is especially risky because of potential for alcohol and drug use and multiple passenger in the vehicle - causing distractions for the driver.  Savings = how much is a teen's life worth?  I think priceless.
