I hear it all the time - for some reason especially from my friends. Does your limo have a moonroof? Movies glamorize drunk people sticking their head out of the moonroof of a limo - singing at the tops of the voices or yelling. So dangerous. The vehicle is MOVING - they are DRINKING and only the chauffeur can see if the vehicle is passing under branches from a tree or a low underpass.
Now-a-days limo manufactures seal up the moon roof and typically they are clearly marked as emergency use only. Normally this is the emergency escape hatch in the event of a roll-over. But crazy enough some of our clients - actually for a corporate event - booked our Hummer limo and popped open the emergency escape hatch anyway. To drunkenly stick their head out of the Hummer limo. That cost them - the latch to sealed the escape hatch was $1,000! Yep $1000 to stick your head out the "moon-roof".
I cringe every time some movie has people sticking their heads out. It is such a liability for the company! If you want to do crazy things that risk your life and limb, book a sky diving trip or bungee jump or something. Don't try and stick your heads out of our limos. It is just a recipe for expensive damages.
We get the call sometimes. It is not a pleasant phone call. It is usually from somebody that is upset - usually at reasons that have nothing to do with us or our company. Maybe all their friends that were supposed to come out and celebrate the birthday party are being flaky. Canceling the celebration. Backing out of the plans. Or they just broke up with their boyfriend that they had booked the Tempe limo (or any other city for that matter) for. Or the worse yet - the wedding just got called off. Huge bummer.
So they want to cancel the limo ride that they had scheduled with our company for days or even weeks and months. The problem is that we don't have a huge fleet of limos - so when you tie up one of our vehicles with a reservation we take it serious that you will be using the vehicle. So we turn away other customers from that same vehicle at that same time.
We cannot afford to turn away business - or lose business. This is why you cannot cancel without penalty. With our company, you book with at least 50% down. That 50% is non-refundable at the time of booking. The other 50% is non-refundable once we are within 2 weeks of the event. If you have to cancel because something horrible happened - like the wedding got canceled - let us know at least 2 weeks before so you can at least not be obligated to the full 100% of the reservation!
Hopefully we can re-book the vehicle and not totally be out. It is a bummer when plans get canceled - for whatever reason - but we have to keep tight cancellation policies - especially because of the downturn in the economy. Hopefully when you book your Tempe limo, Scottsdale limo, Phoenix party bus - all your plans go through and you have an awesome time. That is what we are here to try and help you facilitate - having a great time with great prices, customer service oriented chauffeurs, beautiful vehicles and great service!
Scottsdale is the heart of the nightlife and entertainment in Arizona and many, many people are aware of the heavy consequences of drinking and driving with Arizona's tough DUI laws so they opt to rent limos for their night out in Scottsdale. And of course it is fun to ride in a limo so avoiding a DUI is only 1/2 the motivation.
Here are 3 simple tips to make sure you get the best limos in Scottsdale service:
1. Figure out the date, time and number of passengers before you start making your calls to limo companies. We need all those details to give you an accurate quote. There is a wide variety of limos available to fit parties from 2-46 people and prices vary on certain nights because of special events and school dances. So having those details before you call will make your information gathering easier.
2. Price is not the only factor - you want to make sure the limo company is properly insured, has employees driving their vehicles not independent contractors, is licensed with the airport, DOT (for vehicles over 15 passengers) and AZ Weights and Measures. You are putting your lives in the chauffeur's hands - you want to make sure they don't get injured in an accident and then not have enough insurance to cover you injuries.
3. Service - check out on-line reviews at places like limos.com (where we have many, many 5 star reviews). You can get a steak at Denny's and you can get a steak at Morton's steak house - where would you like to eat? Limos have the same sort of ambiance and service as restaurants. If it is an old vehicle, worn down with broken amenities like the stereo or TV - was it worth the $20 savings for that limo?
Call us for your limos in Scottsdale needs - we can help make you night affordable, safe and with the best possible service!

Take a party bus to your favorite concert - most concerts are on weekday nights - so your ride can be as little as $20 per person for a safe - 5 hour ride in a tricked-out 28 passenger party bus with all your cocktails on-board!
We went out to Myst on Saturday night to meet some friends and have some fun. It's been a super long time since we've been out - like a pre-planned night. Not just the spur of the moment - let's go meet some friends for dinner or at the clubs/lounges. Totally planned.
So I spent all Saturday thinking about these important things.
- What am I going to wear? Trip to the mall - outfit and accessories = $150
- How tan do I look? Trip to the tanning salon - 8 minutes on the bed to 'open my pores' and then Mystic tan = $22.50
- Are my toes okay? Trip to the pedicure place = $30 with tip.
- We don't drink anymore so we don't have to plan this part - but who is going to be the designated driver? Should we call a sedan service = $45 each way this way we get to be home - in our own bed. Or should we get a hotel = summer specials around $80-$100.
- Then the dinner and drinks = $70 for us (non-drinkers - party of two) or more like $120-200 for a party of two drinkers.
It seems like a lot of money when you add it all up. But it is fun -all work and no playtime gets really dull - and lonely.
I have a great blog article about how renting a limo or party actually saves you money on going out to help minimize some of these costs. The ultimate cost would be killing or injuring somebody in drunk driving accident. So hopefully you take it seriously to book a car or limo, designate a driver or book a hotel room!
Eric Clapton and Steve Windwood were always a main staple of music in the background at my house in my childhood. My father - an old hand at the acoustic and electric guitar himself - considers Eric Clapton one of the best all-time players.
Eric Clapton has remained fresh releasing great hits like Tear in Heaven and winning a Grammy in 2008 for The Road to Escondido. Amazingly his recording history dates all the way back to 1965.
The concert - coming to the Jobing.com arena on 6/26/09 - had reviews like "the acoustic portion of the concert is awesome", "Killer concert. It's unbelievable how two extraordinarily accomplished guitar players can each play a Fender Stratocaster and yet sound so different! Winwood gives Clapton a run for his money on guitar."
At an all-out musical extravaganza like this - some cocktails might be called for to celebrate. Take a sedan, SUV, or limo to safely enjoy the concert at the Jobing.com arena!
Mention discount code BLOG_Clapton and you can get the low Sunday-Thursday pricing for this incredible concert!
That is right stupid, dumb, reckless, immature. I can think of a dozen more names. There are so many options in this town besides drinking and driving. But people drink and drive every day. Another big day - Cinco De Mayo is coming up tomorrow and between this last weekends pre-Cinco festivities and those tomorrow night - there will probably be dozens and dozens, if not hundreds of DUI arrests. Dozens and dozens if not hundreds of more stupid people.
One of our very good friends just got arrested last week for a DUI - the same one I blogged about who thought he was 'okay to drive' himself and his young daughter home after our Superbowl party - slurring his words and bleary eyed. So it was only a matter of time his stupid behavior would reap the consequences. He got busted after going out to a baseball game - how many times have you drove after drinks at a game? I hope our friend learned his lesson - he is friends with people that own a limo company for God's sake and he still gets a DUI!!
Our company is an obvious choice/alternative to drinking and driving. Or you can designate a driver - one person in your party who will do the honorable/responsible thing. That means you REALLY cannot drink that night! Not 'I will just have a few' (because even a few can impair you and land you with a DUI). You can have fun going out sober - trust me I know from experience. Or you can call a cab or a friend to pick you up at the bar and get your car the next day. The bottom line is plan something - before you go out - quit being stupid!
It's a little frustrating. I've got to admit. That same question - over and over again. So you've got to pay for the chauffeur and the limo (or bus) to just sit there while we are in the church, in the dance, in the restaurant?? Yep. What else are we going to do?
You go to work - finish a project - don't have anything else to do and your boss is at a meeting so can't show the next task - but you are required to be there - ready to get going the minute your boss is ready - you expect to get paid for that time right?
Limo and party bus/mini-bus/charter-bus service is not like cab companies. We don't just drive around after we drop you off looking for the group of 18 people going to the clubs in Tempe - or 35 strangers that just happen to be going to north Scottsdale. They just are standing on the side of the road - flagging us down.
It is not worth our time to stop the clock - have nothing else to do - and then start the clock again the minute you are ready.
We try to build a night with limo transfers - like picking up one group of 20 in a Hummer at 8pm - to the clubs - another group of 18 in a Hummer at 9:30 pm, and so on. In theory it works - especially at the beginning of the night. But the end of the night everybody wants a pick up at 2:00 am when the clubs close. And people get drunk. Drunk people are hard to manage - especially if you are on a time pressure to get this first drunk group home so you can get the next drunk group.
Hours are hours. You probably expect to get paid for all the hours you are "on the clock" at your job. We have to be fair to our chauffeurs too.
So yes - you have to pay for the limo while you are at dinner. . .
